Corner Pocket Sports Bar

We had a great turn out for the UFC fight last night, and congratulations to Daniel Cormier on his stunning knockout victory over Stipe Miocic, earning the title of Heavyweight Champion. And look it up, the guy is thirty-nine years old. And a Champion.
It’s funny when you watch someone battle it out through adversities to rise up again, anew.
You root for them. For the challenges you see them face reflect your own obstacles as clearly as any well leaded mirror. You cheer on for that which seems impossible to be won.
Cheer for Corner Pocket, for we face annualy our greatest enemy.
The Summertime.
She is a crafty beast to navigate. Besought with treacherous, wretchedly sun-warmed, waves. That beckon you to go outside. And enjoy the Summertime’s vice-like allure.
And the worst part about it all.

As a Billiards Hall and Sports Bar…
Is that “sports” totally screw us every Summertime.
So here is the sport’s lineup for today.

At 11:00 AM; (less than a half-hour away) The World Series of Poker continues their live coverage of their Main Event, where first place pulls in eight Million dollars.

From here on things thin out considerably..

The TYR Pro Swim Series, from Columbus Ohio starts at two-thirty. That’s a real thing. Starting at two-thirty. Their will be someone who wins that. Whatever that competition may entail.

Oh, also summer league basketball in in full swing. The Warriors play the Rockets at four-thirty. For.. Summer League.. 😕

It’s a rough time to be a sports bar.

The Dodgers Play the Angels tonight. 🙂 though. Game starts at five pm.

As you can see, Summertime doesn’t toss us a lot of competitive sporting “bones”. But we wether the onslaught. And come back prepared to roll every time blessed September lifts it’s snowflecked head.
Football, the Raiders and ‘Niners both looking good.
The return of the Championship Golden State Warriors.
And we are still rooting for The hometown Sacramento Kings.
Playoff Baseball..

Corner Pocket will be ready..

and

It’s The Summertime, get nature-bound, have fun, if you want to play pool and get out of the heat, we’re always here for you.

And if you want to see some off season sports. Carpe diem.

Open, 11:00 AM on weekdays, 9:00 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
Close at 2:00 AM. 365 days a year.

The main event of Saturday’s UFC 226 remains the Superfight between heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier for the heavyweight championship.

Featherweight champion Max Holloway is out of his scheduled bout against Brian Ortega due to injury and the fight has been removed from the card. Stepping into the co-main event position is a highly-anticipated heavyweight bout featuring No. 1-ranked Francis Ngannou and No. 5-ranked Derrick Lewis. The bout featuring Paul Felder and Mike Perry will move to the main card. See MoreSee Less
