We had a great turn out for the UFC fight last night, and congratulations to Daniel Cormier on his stunning knockout victory over Stipe Miocic, earning the title of Heavyweight Champion. And look it up, the guy is thirty-nine years old. And a Champion. It’s funny when you watch someone battle it out through adversities to rise up again, anew. You root for them. For the challenges you see them face reflect your own obstacles as clearly as any well leaded mirror. You cheer on for that which seems impossible to be won. Cheer for Corner Pocket, for we face annualy our greatest enemy. The Summertime. She is a crafty beast to navigate. Besought with treacherous, wretchedly sun-warmed, waves. That beckon you to go outside. And enjoy the Summertime’s vice-like allure. And the worst part about it all.
As a Billiards Hall and Sports Bar… Is that “sports” totally screw us every Summertime. So here is the sport’s lineup for today.
At 11:00 AM; (less than a half-hour away) The World Series of Poker continues their live coverage of their Main Event, where first place pulls in eight Million dollars.

It’s a rough time to be a sports bar.

As you can see, Summertime doesn’t toss us a lot of competitive sporting “bones”. But we wether the onslaught. And come back prepared to roll every time blessed September lifts it’s snowflecked head. Football, the Raiders and ‘Niners both looking good. The return of the Championship Golden State Warriors. And we are still rooting for The hometown Sacramento Kings. Playoff Baseball..
Corner Pocket will be ready..
